'63 tailgate

I think GMC fenderside tailgates went from the old script style in 62 to the "block" GMC in 63. Were the early '63 trucks outfitted with the script style? Mine has one but dont know if is original to the truck.

Early 63's used a lot of 62 leftover parts. tailgates, lenses, etc. can be found from 62 on 1963 trucks for the early months. back then they didnt waste nuttin!

The old script lasted into the 63 model year on fenderside models.The block style script came on 64 fenderside models, though it dates back to 1958 on wideside models.
