What size battery are you guys running? I've got a Diehard with 600 CCA that seems to have trouble turning my 305 V6 over, even when it's warm. But when I hook up the jumpbox with 900 CCA it turns right over no problem.

If the 600 should be enough, looks like I might be finding myself a new solenoid

I had a 560 CCA in my '63 4000 series (351C) but it didn't quite muster enough for it start it on its own in the winter time (I live in Northern Maine). I would put a trickle charger on it over night when I knew that i was going to be running it the next day. I use it as a plow truck so I really need it to start. I put a 770 CCA in it and it made a big difference.

I may go ahead and put a 770 in her too then. I don't drive her all day yet, but when I do I really need her to start and run.

Thanks for the reply!

I only chose the 770 because I got a good deal on it. If I had to step out and buy a new one, I would have gotten an 800 or a 1000 CCA. Because it gets cold up here in the winter time, bigger is better.

i have a duralast gold in my 67 305e. part #34 DT-DLG.

this battery is a friggen beast! i swear it takes a full half hour of cranking before it gives up. thank god it came with my truck or i would have been screwed this past winter. i've left my lights on for over 24 hrs and the **** thing still turned her over. im sure there are other good ones but i would highly recomend this model if you haven't already fixed the problem.

haven't figured out how to tell if threads are old so sorry if this is way late
