I am installing cab lights on my 1963 GMC 5000. Any one done this and have suggestions on how to run wiring to the lights and how to get access to the spot above the truck ceiling?

I'll chime in... I think this topic was covered on the chevytalk forum. You might search there.

You need to use a fish tape, the wires yun of the d/s rear corner and along the rear of the roof. it is real easy. you can try a long coathanger wire, but a fishtape is a little stiffer. Also it may help IF you start from the can light hole and downward. Disconnect the wires from the rear of the cab light tape one end to the FT and send it downward.

It is sometimes a good idea to spray the fish line and the wires with a good lubricant that will help prevent the wire or fish line getting "hung up".
