V-12 with blowers
OK, I have to much time to think, so, I have a V-12 , 0.040, aluminum 3 ring pistons, mild cam just sittin' on the shelf. Has anyone ever put 2 blower on top of this monster, and is it even possible. :signthankspin:

Re: V-12 with blowers
I think the best bet would be to build a manifold that sits on top of the two existing manifolds that connects them together at their top bases and just run one blower say from a 12V-71 engine.

Re: V-12 with blowers
The cool factor was sky rocket. You'd have figure a way to drive the second blower.

Re: V-12 with blowers
Would this work sufficiently with standard head or would magnums be required?

Re: V-12 with blowers
I'VE BEEN KICKING THAT AROUND ALSO. I'M THINKING 4 TURBOS, ONE ON EACH EXHAUST MANIFOLD. 2 FOR EACH CARB, 650 CFM EACH.
ANY THOUGHTS? WAS GOING TO HAVE CAM REGROUND, WILL TURBOS NEED A DIFFERENT CAM PROFILE? DON'T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH TURBO CHARGERS.:teehee: |
Re: V-12 with blowers
4 Turbo's definitely sound good, are you talking about using two 650cfm 4 barrel carbs? If you're going to be running that much carburetion then a custom grind cam would be a good idea.

Re: V-12 with blowers
Would it be a waste of time to port magnum heads and put bigger valves in?

Re: V-12 with blowers
i was wondering if 2 650 cfm carbs would be too much. with the lower rpm band of this engine. i was planning on turning 4000 to 5000 rpm max, depending on how much i can lighten up the rotating assembly.
