V-12 with allison trans

Since this is going into a large vehicle, I used a trans that will haul it. This is a 1942 Ford Siebert Ambulance. It will become a wooden hearse, chauffeur driven, passenger section with bar, and dividing window. Why not, ever seen one before?:lolsmack2::upyes::notrolls:

Re: V-12 with allison trans
Here are my thought on the dual fours. I used a 2 to 4 NHL conversion plate. While they are 2 Holley 600's, I am not convinced it was necessary to machine the intakes. With limited intake restriction, you are going to be limited to a certain air intake volume. The max fuel mix would not be significantly different. What are your thoughts. My two cents

Re: V-12 with allison trans
In my high school days I tried the 2bbl to 4bbl adapter on my 68 305E. I installed a Holley 780 dual feed square carb bore. The idle was fluctuating up and down:ahhhh:, seemed like the adapter wasn't sealing well, don't think the vacuum secondary's ever kicked in:banghead:. A couple years later I decided to try the Economaster Holley 450cfm mini spreadbore carb with the same adapter:lolsmack2:, when the secondary's kicked in there was a stumble:pullinghairout: because there's only so much fuel you can squeeze through a small passage, both episodes only proved the Holley 500 2bbl prevailed with the stock manifold. If you're going to run the stock manifolds specially on the 702 and run 4bbl carbs then the best bet is to modify the stock manifolds to accept a 4bbl base like David Chadwell did several years back. You can't use the Magnum V6 intake manifolds on the 702 due to the spacing these engines have their own specific intake manifolds:ok:

Open the plenum. Good results. Been there an done it. Dual 4's look sick on that 702 though. Super jealous right now. :lolsmack2:

Re: V-12 with allison trans
Using the Ford frame, extended 30 inchs, make a two piece hood
'65 C-10 front cross member w/ disc brakes, if I can get it to fit. Atomman |
