Identiy of BB V6 Please

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all, Just was wondering if there is a way to identify this engine (photo attached i think) as it is too heavy to lean over to see the normal area to identify. Now this engine has been like this for how long i don't know and the oil pan and valve covers both show some damage, the carb is also broke off (stromberg). I suspect it is out of a big truck because of the configuration of the water pump and a power steering pump mounted above it. It also has a big gearbox attached with a PTO. The guy wants $240.oo but i was'nt willing to take the risk not being able to see the whole engine. I do know it is a big block V-6 but i don't know what displacement it might be.Any thoughts?
Thanks

Does the intake have the trapezoidal mount? it would be a Magnum series. I see a1972 date stamp on the exhaust manifolds too. Hmnnnnn?

The picture of the intake manifold would be a help. Non Magnum 401 and 478 engines up to 1965 also had a trapezoid base but that particular manifold was a high rise versus the Magnum's flat design. Judging by the picture the I beam exhaust manifold looks a bit smaller than the Magnum exhaust manifolds.

Blowing out pic bigger I got a glimpse of the air horn of the carburetor which appears to be the smaller ww carb used on 305C and 351C engines, the bell housing is the smaller style used in medium duty trucks as well as pickup trucks. The exhaust manifold part number matches up to a 351C engine of 1972 vintage, so this vey well may be a 351C. If the engine is not capable of turning over and frozen no way is it worth $240.

Like in the previous post I mentioned the of what I could see the carb was the smaller Stromberg ww model, in the new pic definitely confirmed the smaller rectangular carburetor base rather than the larger trapezoid base. I feel the engine is most likely a 351C but at the least it could be a 305C. Yes the 351C was available in medium duty trucks up to 1972 then replaced with a stroked 379 in 1973 which lasted till 1974.

Hi all, Thanks for the input. So it is safe to say if it turns over it is worth $240. ?? even though it has some obvious mis-handling damage.

I see this motor has lifting rings on it. Did someone add these or did some come that way?
