'61 305v6 CPR
Hi all! Well I just put in new main bearings and rod ends to fix a sharp knock. Still knocking. Took the heads off today, foundation fairly pulverized metal screw partially imbedded in piston #1. Super.... I ground off the peaks and removed all foreign junk. Going back together now. Almost completely plugged off with sludge on top. Cleaned and oiled rocker rails. Each rocker had one oil galley open, the rest where plugged solid. What a mess, looking better now!! I got a new oil filter and it came with an O-ring. It's too small to fit the filter housing and when I took the old one off, there wasn't one on there!!?? Does I need one?
