Re: Power steering woes
Just a surprise (for me). The kid I sold my '66 1000 to was given a '76 power steering setup as they wanted to go manual (straight exchange, manual for power) and the kid actually got the steering box to fit properly -and- fabricated some brackets to hold the power steering pump... all he needed from me was a double pulley, which I had on one of my extra (parts?) engines. So he now has power steering.
Now he is stripping my '66 3/4 ton chassis for all the 3/4 ton parts and upgrading the 1000 to a 1500. Title will still say 1000 though. Sadly went from 3-on-the-tree to a top-loader 4 on the floor (granny-1-2-3). Had to sort around for a driveline, again out of my spare parts.
I must really like this kid because I have let him access almost all of the parts I have accumulated over the years. He has already taken my best fender and hood (replaced the <shiver> Chevy Hood that was on there).
