The original paint was lacquer. You will find that impossible to buy in most states today. This forum has many of the original paint chips and paint codes from this era. Any automotive finishing supply warehouse can provide a polyurethane paint matched to the original paint chip or paint code. Also, if you have a original finish panel (cowl corner) that has been polished to original luster, they should be able to paint match to that.
