Good morning GMC Club Members!
We will be implementing an overhaul of the "All Posts to your Mailbox" system today. This system has been great for those that wish to be seriously active members of the club or those that preferred the old Yahoo method of communication. However, this has also been an ongoing problem for our mail server as many casual users have subscribed to the alert system only to abuse it or mark notifications as spam instead of using the unsubscribe links or sending it to a specific folder.
Aside from the undue stress on our servers and bandwidth billing, by marking the posts as spam these casual users are causing the server to be blocked at several large mail processing companies on the internet. Reversal of this blacklisting is a long and arduous process that requires many days or weeks of cajoling and pleading with techy nerd-types high on snark and low on understanding.
To keep our servers listed with the best possible reputation we will be taking down the "All posts to your Mailbox" system tonight and upgrading it to a newer, private system limited to GMC Club members current on their dues. If you wish to remain on the list or if you are a
current subscribing member and would like to be added to the list please send me a PM with the email address to which you'd like to receive the updates.
The new system should begin sending posts this Friday.
