Default Re: V6 easy to work on?

Thx. BTW this is a pusher--engine in back. The bus builder offered a motor mount kit back in the 60s and 70s for owners who wanted to replace the original straight 8 Buick engine with the readily available at the time GMC 6. When I repositioned the motor to make room for the Allison my carb intake hose bend was a little tight. initial road testing went well but engine made no power on the interstate. When I got up to highway speed the hose collapsed. I had thought there was spiral wire inside the rubber hose but it does not. ended up going with a K&N filter. Bus has a carb, still has points ignition on the 50 year old engine--and it has the computerized 6 speed Allison. Its got one foot in the last Century and one foot in this Century. Works amazingly well together and gets in the 8 mpg range on the interstate. Weve gotten as high 9.6 mpg on highway only runs where the highway is flat. .
