I have to disagree a little Steve. This was really the first new design after the war for any truck. While it was not revolutionary like the 1960 GM offerings it was realistic for the time. Also this series brought the automatic trans to the light truck market for the first time also. Now when you compare the 55 first series to the 60 GM line the advanced design seems quite primitive. The 60 platform really laid the foundation for the new trucks we see today. Finally we should not forget the other engineering jump in 60 The corvair rampside truck, which I have an exceptional example. Which I consider a remarkable light duty city delivery vehicle. Compare that to any 50's light truck and it seems quite Buck Rogerish. Barry
