To someone in our forum here, am I right on this assumption, or was I misinformed from the word go from information I gathered from GMC's ads about the marvelous new truck engine first introduced in 1960?

For the first time in the run of the 60-66 GMC trucks a 230 inline six was offered in a step down option called the I series in 1964, so it would have been an I-1000. The 305E trucks were 1000 series.
