Default Will a 305A front timing cover/housing fit a 351C?

I'm getting a 1964 351C engine delivered here early this coming week. It has the big truck front timing cover/water pump housing assembly on it, with the radiator fan mounted off the crankshaft. This will not work as I am putting it into a 1962 GMC 1000 engine bay where my 305D sits right now.

Another forum member has a 305A front cover assembly he will sell me and personally deliver to my house even! I need to make sure this front cover swap is compatible before they drive it 3 states away and deliver it en route to a wedding....

Any idea? I figured it probably was, but then again, the 305A was substantially lighter in weight than the 305E and the rest of the engine family. I figured there may be something to that. If the weight savings is in the front cover, but it still fits, that would be excellent!

Thanks everyone,

DSCN3892.jpg picture comparing v12 cover to 305a cover. should bolt on, as long as you have timing chain ,and not gears like the v12.

I'm not an expert, but I replaced my 305E with a 351C from a large truck as you are doing. All the necessary parts from my 305 bolted right on the 351 without a problem: front cover, oil pan and pump and my power steering pump too. I'm not familiar w the 305A but would think it would all work.

You should be O.K., all the 351's had timing chains. Looks like that 351C came out of a tilt cab, they used the crank mounted fan.
