My opinion on the distributor is to go High Energy...

I changed my fuel filters a few years back (running fine, just tune up). A couple years ago my mech fuel pump started leaking, so I replaced it. Been running great for several years, but over the summer I noticed it cutting out some at highway speed (like a fuel pump issue).

I first replaced the fuel filters because sometimes that's the issue not the fuel pump. I still had the issue, so I pulled the hose off the carb and I was only getting about 2 tablespoons of gas in five seconds. So I installed another mech fuel pump, pulled the hose off the carb and I didn't even measure it because gas was pumping all over the place.
