Default 70 Protecto Plate

I know someone mentioned they'd not seen a Protecto Plate. When I use to have my 70 GMC I purchased an owners manual for it and they sent this packet with the manual.

Very cool, Funky61, thanks for posting it. I still have that stuff for my '70 K5 that my Mom bought in 1971, and the South Dakota drivers license manual from 1972 is still in the packet too. It was from when I studied and got my first license---in that GMC. Mom must have put the manual in there.

Thanks for posting this - looks like maybe all GMC protecto-plates were minus the owners information on them - sort of weird after seeing all the Chevrolet ones use the address and original owners name on them along with all the drivetrain and vin data

I guess for the sake of knowledge here's the Protect-O-Plate from my '70 GMC K5.

It does have the first owner info on it. My Mom was the second owner and bought it less than a year after the first owner got it new.

The Protect-O-Plate on my 68 is nearly identical to your 70 Jimmy, now if I can only find where I put it!

Thanks for the reply, BigblockV6. The truck is about 20 feet from me as I type and I put the glovebox contents in a file drawer only about 3 or 4 months ago. That stuff was lost for awhile before that too!

You'll find it!
