Default Kanter rebuild kits

Hello all,
Have any of y'all used the rebuild kits from kanter? If so, would you recommend them?

I'm a bit wary of things that seem too good to be true..... Particularly when it comes to kits, as I'm worried they use mediocre parts in order to make the product more affordable.

Thoughts?

The last I heard Kanter advertised kits for the 305, but they didn't make them anymore. I'd call first and make sure.

Some people are like slinkys. Not worth much but funny as heck when pushed down stairs.

I remember several years ago Kanters said they were discontinuing rebuild kits for the V6 so by now I'm sure there's not much or anything available for these engines from Kanters

I think I got this link from the 67-72 Forum or maybe here, not sure...anyways looks like they have some parts. I know nothing about them.

Egge has some rebuild parts. I just got rings, main, rod, and cam bearings from them.

https://egge.com/

I think you need to call them for part availability.

RPMRONS does not have anything, I talked to them about 6 months ago. Kanter has 401 pistons and rings. Hastings is making rings for 351 std. and .030

The 401 pistons were actually reproduced by another division of Kanters called Packard Industries. Quite a few years back with the interest gathered up in the big cubic inch V6 they decided to reproduce 401 Pistons and if I'm not mistaken Jolly was the first to be notified on his website

I've sent them an email and will let y'all know how I go...... I'm not liking my chances though.

I'm hoping it doesn't come to a rebuild, but I've got a knocking noise that hangs around until the engine warms up....

Kanter
$1075.00 for a set of 401 pistons and rings seems a little stout! Dave
