Default Stick - bellhousing (help)

It may be a Crazy question. This is not the first bellhousing I ever worked with, but I cannot get it separated from the block, All bolts out but I cannot get it to move, is there something that I could be missing. John

Did you get the ones on the inside?
You have to take the flywheel off to get to them easily.

There's bolts on the Inside? WOW. lol

My 292 only had them outside. What held mine up a bit was the alignment pins.

David Leifheit is correct on this issue. In order to remove the bell housing from these engines, the flywheel must be removed to gain access to the "hidden bolts" securing the bell housing to the engine. Prior to Chevy's development of the 292 I-6, the old 235 and 261 I-6 Chevy engines also required the removal of the flywheel to remove the bell housing from the engine.

Thanks to everyone. It is AMAZING that after the 4-bolts behind the flywheel were taken out, the bellhousing came right off. LIKE MAGIC !!!!!!
