Default Exhaust or headers

Has anyone built or bought headers. I am thinking on having flanges laser cut and building a set. What do you think. Thanks, John

I'm gonna follow this one. I've been thinking about building a set. Have you checked out http://www.headersbyed.com/hc_buildbetter.htm ? They don't sell flanges for the GMC 6's but there's some good info there.

Bought the flanges today, he makes 2 sets one 1/4" and 3/8" thick. The 3/8" thick were more than twice as much but gonna give it a shot. The openings are 1 3/4" OD so that will be good, I will start to make them in aBOUT 3 WEEKS and will keep you posted. John

Sounds great, post pictures of your progress! I'd love to have a set of headers but don't have tubing bending equipment or experience...

I got them from Thunder V12. The 3/8" flanges were stainless so I went with that. Hopefully no mistakes , could get expensive. Will keep you posted on progress. Thanks for the info on where to get the flanges. Very nice to work with, very informative.

Received the flanges they are vey nice. The exhaust ports are rectangle 1 3/4 x 1 /1/2. I am having the short pipe from the flange made now, when I get them I will start to post photos as I go. I am probably about a month away from starting due to the jobs I am doing now, 2 installations of A/C in other trucks. John
