Hello all,

Here's my Apache 10. It's a 1961, and amazingly original. I will have to source appropriate wheels, but "Beatrice" is otherwise a real time capsule. I'll be doing some necessary maintenance over the next months; I'm sure there are many things applicable to both GMCs and Chevrolets.

That is a nice Pickup, I had one that was rusted out with no title, so I just parted it out down to the rust, and scrapped the front half, the back half still lives on as a pickup bed trailer.

That's a beautiful truck! I love the black mirror finish look on the 60-66 trucks :)

1961 was the best of the two years that have the cats eye hood - the 61 hood pods are sculpted to make the lenses appear to "float" inside a Black background, and the grille has the center "floating" chevrolet emblem - both of which are more appealing than the plain white pods and plain bars found in a 1960 grill. The 235 engine is hard to kill and will run forever and the 60-61 torsion bar suspension is unbeatable by any 63 up coil spring trucks in terms of cornering and ride smoothness. The visors and armrests are unique to 1961 only - they have a pebbled or thatched appearance vs every year prior and every year after - very strange. Also a unique interior Bluish Silver paint vs the Silver used from 1957 to 1960 which is a dull and less attractive Silver interior paint. A lot of good reasons to have a 61 Apache alongside your beloved GMC's....
