I have a 1963 GMC 4000 series truck. It has a 4 speed transmission with a PTO. Trouble is that the PTO is out of a 59 Chevy and the pitch of the gears aren't quite the same. It works but it whines very badly and wont stay in gear on its own. I have to hold it in gear to operate the dump body. Any ideas where I could find the right part. I've checked on Ebay and didn't find anything.

Dan, one resource would be to drop down on the forum page to "6066 GMC Market Place", and put a want ad in there to go along with what you've written here. Good luck on finding what you need. Bob C. in northern CA

Guys, the place to look for PTO gears is a PTO shop, look for your local Dana/spicer/Chelsea PTO warehouse, they should be able to get you the proper gears for your dump truck PTO. The gears for a winch PTO will be different because a winch requires a reversible PTO........get a old timer at the PTO dealer to help you out, they will even know where some old used stuff is. Kieth
