Hey Guys - I have been really having a blast this summer driving my 1964 2500 series all over the place and to local cruise ins and shows, but since its a driver I had originally intended to not put any effort into cleaning up the engine bay, but I noticed the valve covers were leaking pretty bad, so since I had to remove them anyway, I decided to go ahead and water blast the 49 yrs worth of gunk and grime off it and touch up the engine's paint and add a set of plaid valve covers I had saved just to spruce its underhood appearance up some. I had no idea it was that dirty under there - look at these before and after shots and let me know what you think!

I found some wrapping paper that has a plaid pattern that is REALLY close to our valve covers, I' decided I would have some fun at car shows with it.

Thanks so much guys - I am pulling my 18' dovetail trailer loaded down with parts and a 65 longbox Chevy that doesn't run to a local car show and swap meet in Decatur Alabama this weekend and cannot wait to see people's reaction to my V6 pulling around that Chevy and of course their faces when they see the plaid valve covers! Should be a lot of fun!

That made quite a difference! Looks good. I haven't paid any attention all summer, been real busy. So how is it running? Sounds like you are enjoying yourself, therefore I'm happy!..........Alan

Looks good!
What is that flat bracket near the PS pump? One of my parts motors has that and I have no idea what it's for.

Looks like a York A/C compressor bracket to me.
