GMC 478 225hp TURBO toroFlow Marine Diesel
Hi
I have a Toroflow 478 225hp Turbo fitted in a 40 foot boat it has done 20/30
hours since I bought the boat and has performed faultlessly I had the heat
exchangers removed cleaned an descaled and of course oil filter oil diesel filters
changed all parts obtained locally off the shelf. The engine has probably done
about 2000 hours from new. As in all marine applications it is stored under the
floor in a dry clean environment it still looks like new. I attach a photo
Best wishes
Alan
The boat is in Brisbane Australia

Alan, that's a really good looking engine you've got there. I can't get over how clean it is for a "working" engine.
When I first read the header for your post, I thought you had a Toro Flow that had DIED and were asking for help. I had never heard the term "dies" used to mean "diesel" before.

The GMC 478 Gas burner was one of the Big Block V6 family before GMC built the Toro-Flow, which only applies to the Diesel engines of this family.

Wow Very nice, I assume that there must have been a rebuild job some time ago? Or if this is original then the entire boat must be like new still! sure hope you never need internal engine parts.
