Wish I could help you on the background of your truck, Rick. It drives me a little nuts sometimes that I know nothing about my oldest GMC's past. I know a lot about the two from the '70's. One of these folks will be here to help soon.

Welcome to the forum!

I think you could safely say that is the exact same truck. Color, modifications, '66 grill with '62 hood (or just '62 turn signal lenses)... If the seller told you it was redone in Florida, and the modifications picture has Florida plates... then that all seems to check out.
You would have to contact Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (or whatever they call it there) and find out if they would be able to find previous owners in their records and share that with you. It would probably cost to do this though.

Jeannie contacted me regarding this thread and I thank her for the "very valued member" characterization. I put the modification album together some time ago with the intention of adding to it as I found interesting examples going forward.

Since the transition from Yahoo Groups, I have not found it possible to add or edit my old photo albums nor have I been otherwise active. That being said, I am sorry I also cannot assist with the ownership background of the truck in question.
