Hello All,

Haven't been on the site lately because I'm going through a job change.
After spending many years doing valvetrain design work at a major auto supplier, I got the opportunity to work at GM Powertrain on advanced engine development. I just couldn't pass up such a plum job, so I jumped at it and started there on Jan 16.

It's a very impressive place full of knowledgeable people, dedicated machine shop, assembly and teardown rooms, and about 100 test cells. Motorhead heaven. As I have been exploring the place, I have seen framed copies of GMC V6 and V12 advertisements hanging on the walls in the Engineering Building. It's nice to see that GM is proud of the technical heritage of the GMC V6, even though it has been out of production for 40 years.

Would it be against the rules to take some pics of the art? That sounds like a dream job. Congratulations! :goodluck:

Sounds killer! When I was high school, I took a stab at getting into GMI. Feel free to let us know what the culture is like there. I used to know it pretty well living in Dayton, what with Frigidaire, Delco Products, and Inland. I'd guess it's changed a bit with the recent developments.

Yeah, I'm a retread. I went to GMI, but left GM soon after I graduated. Then after 28 years of working on engine projects at various places, I'm back at GM. Hoping to finish my career here.
