Hydra-Matic+351=possible?

Does anyone know if a 351 will work with a cast iron 4 speed Hydra-Matic?
Are the 305 and 351 balanced the same way(to be honest I don't know if the are internally or externally balanced)?
Do they take the same flywheel in manual applications?

305, 351 & 401 are all bolt in swaps for each other for your year of truck.

it looks like I will have some 305 stuff up for grabs soon. Two parts motors(e models) and the one in my truck that runs good(d model).
...and a power steering pump w/brackets.
