Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the sight and have to say I'm ecstatic to be here! I've just acquired a '66 GMC with a 351E, but it has the wrong carburetor on it, a Rochester 2g. I'd like to know what the proper carb is for this motor, or can someone point me in the right direction for a conversion. Are there any adapters out there to convert to the Holley 500 that I've been seeing listed on 6066. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The proper carb nwould be the STROMBERG WWC model with trapezoid base, TransDapt used top make the HOLLEY 500 ADAPTER part no. 2140 long discontinued. I have myself built over 2 dozen adapters like this for members in the past. Make sure you have the correct intake manifold, sometimes during carb changes intakes have been changed to the smaller port design with the more conventional base 2bbl base. I will get hold of you shortly to talk more on this.

I am happy to report the motor does have the proper larger port intake with the trapezoid design carb base on the engine. Someone made an adapter from trapezoid to the smaller 4 square then adding the 2G. I'm new to these V6's but completely memorized by them, all the education and help I can get would be greatly appreciated. I would definitely be interested in making an upgrade. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

So the manifold on the 351E with a trapezoid bolt pattern, is that considered a magnum manifold? Would anyone out there happen to have the appropriate carb in case I do not do the Holley conversion. A Stromberg WWC with the trapezoid bolt pattern.
