For those that mite have heard some rumors, here is what has been going on in my life for the past two weeks.

My Dad went in the hospital for a neck operation, and never came back home. he was having trouble healing, so the gave him a cat scan and found Cancer, they gave him 6 months at first, then are doing more checking, three weeks, than a week later if was down to 2 days.

I have been in Boulder City for the past week, I'm home for a day then off to Evanston Wyoming.

Darrell Walker Goodfellow, age 78, of Boulder City, NV passed away on June 2, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Burley, Idaho on October 30, 1935 to Ray Tolman and Winona Walker Goodfellow. He married Sharon Jamison Lowham on December 27, 1972 in Granger, Utah. Darrell owned Mr. Body and Paint for many years and then moved to Evanston, Wyoming where he worked on the Jamison {Arrow} Ranch until he retired. After retirement, they moved to Boulder City, NV.

Darrell was a man’s man. He enjoyed working on cars, admiring antique vehicles, watching football, and trains. He also owned race cars and enjoyed auto racing. He was a patriot that served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was a man of faith and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Goodfellow and seven children, Darrell Walker Goodfellow II (Marcie), Michael Ray Goodfellow (Brenda Yates), Barbara Jean Dady (Ralph), Wade Lowham (Karen), Shary Fass (Leonard), Nona Champlin (Brian), Jamison Walker Goodfellow; one brother Richard Goodfellow; three sisters Betty McClellen, Lois Barber, Doris Wilson; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jolly,

Words can't express how sorry we feel for your loss. Mr. Goodfellow was a great man and a strong base for his family. He was great teacher and a man of good character. How do I know this? It is plainly evident as he lives on in you and your siblings. Your passion inspires others and touches lives every day.

I went through a loss a few years ago and someone handed me a slip of paper. It read:

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and always dear.

I do not know the author but it brought me comfort. I wish you and your family peace of heart in the coming days.

Sorry to hear this Jolly.
My condolences to you and your family, I will keep you and yours in my thoughts.

Know that he is now home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 ESV

So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Having just lost my "Hero" on May 5th, I know how you feel. Not a day goes by I don't think about him and wish I would have gotten this '62 done in time to go for a ride. I find peace knowing he isn't hurting anymore and he will alway be with me. Peace to you and your family as well.

When I must leave you
for a little while,

Please do not grieve
and shed wild tears

And hug your sorrow
to you through the years,

But start out bravely
with a gallant smile;

And for my sake
and in my name

Live on and do
all the things the same,

Feed not your loneliness
on empty days,

But fill each waking hour
In useful ways,

Reach out your hand
in comfort and in cheer

And I in turn will comfort you
and hold you near;

And never, never
be afraid to die,

For I am waiting
for you in the sky!

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad, Jolly. To all of the Goodfellow Family, my very deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. My own Dad passed away 14 years ago on July 4th, 2000 at the age of 93. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him, and wish he was still around to answer questions that I have about what all took place during the Great Depression. Sadly, the youth of today do not realize just what a treasure our Senior citizens really are. God be with you and your Family during this difficult and sorrowful time. All of your Family are in my prayers.
