Hey guys - I have a 1964 2500 series w/ Dana 60 Pow-R-Lok (posi) rear end and it came with 4:11 gears from the factory that I need to change to 3:54's....I finally found a guy who has the 3:54 gears and incidentally they are indeed bolted to a Pow-R-Lok carrier, which is cool, but he says they are set up for 30 spline axles and I have no idea what the factory spline count is on my rig - do any of you guys know what a Dana 60 in a 2500 series would have for a spline count if equipped with a powerlok rear end from the factory? I am thinking it would not even matter because all I probably even need is the actual ring and pinion off this guys set - yes? Thanks, Steve

30 Spline. Grab it all if its not to much. The only spline count you need to worry about is the pinion. Yours is 10 most are 29. If its 29 you need a new 1350 29 spline yoke.

Thanks Barry - this guy wants like 250.00 for this carrier and gearset, which is steeper than I want to pay, but I need to switch these gears out soon because its killing me gas economy wise driving it around town and to car shows, cruise in's etc with 4:11's
Do you think 250.00 is about right or is that high?

Dumb question, but I see a post earlier by another member who just finished a resto of a 1000 series and he was able to use a 3:07 gear ratio because a 1000 series has a Dana 44. I assume because I have a Dana 60, a 3:07 was not offered originally and probably not available aftermarket either for the Dana 60 - correct?

3.54 is the highest for a d60. FYI a new set is about 2-250

So circling back to you on this Barry because I am finally ready financially to buy a new set of 3:54's - so do I need to ask for 10 spline 3:54 gears to match my existing D60 10 spline yoke? if so, who is best to call on these? Kanter?

For some reason the Dana 44 is the only one showing up on websites as having a 10 spline yoke - all the Dana 60 gearsets seem to be for 29 spline - if you say my original D60 has a 10 spline, then I believe you so I am looking for someone who carries a 3:54 set w/ 10 spline yoke

You need to get a 29 spline and a new 29 spline 1350 series yoke.

I found dennysdriveshaft.com helpful for pictures/descriptions/answering questions on Dana-Spicer parts. Good luck.
