The renewed talk about gas mileage and my little turbo 305 project got me thinking about gearing for the 3/4 tons. The best we can do is 3.54 in the Dana 60. While its an improvement over the 4.10 and 4.56 that came with our trucks. I wanted to try a little longer legs. So I dug up a dodge Dana 61 in 3.07. Basically the 61 has a different pinion location so a larger pinion gear can be used. Now I am going to see how this all goes. :

Glad you brought this up - you said one time that you thought you had a Dana 60 3:54 power lock and speedo adaptor you could sell me, and I was wondering if you still do since you are going Dana 61 in the turbo project? I need to get with you on that 3:54 power lock and adaptor right away if you still want to sell it - PM and let me know please

Hi Steve. The dana 61 is going in another jimmy. So I don't have an available 3.54. D 60 you can buy a new 3.54 ring and pinion for about 2 bills. I have lots of ratio adapters. I will pm you. Barry

Very cool - thanks. So where would you recommend to buy D60 3:54 gear sets from? Kanter maybe? never bought any new gears for anything before, but it needs to happen because these 4:10's are murdering me gas mileage wise
