Thanks Jeannie, I am a bit new to this. TJ I think I am going to keep it looking just the same as it is. To me it has a character all its own. Thanks for the compliment!

what is the wire going to the dash for?

Joe, I built a gauge panel because the old one was wasted so I prewired all the gauges, bright and turn signal leds and gauge lights. Got to get out the old test light and figure out the circuits and hook it up, in fact that is todays project. I like to solder and shrink wrap all the connections so it is a bit more time consuming than just crimping the connections. The heater loom is hanging and needs to be hooked up but I can't figure out the routing of the 4 heater cables, I hooked them up and they bind. I suspect the problem is because they are the length made for a C10 which has the heater controls on the other side of the dash next to the instrument cluster. If anybody could give me a clue as to the proper length and position of the cables I would much abliged. Then I could hook the heater up and install the glove box etc. Going to the Portland Swap Meet tomorrow, don't have any money to spend but I can drool, haha!

Great looking truck!! Extra fine Patina and I'm glad you want to leave it that way. Lots of character like you said. Park that ol' dog in a Target parking lot, and all the little Toyotas and Nissans parked within 3 rows will start trembling and leave the lot. I was curious if you have been able to identify the steering wheel?

Foley, the wheel is out of a Lumina van, got it for 5$ at 205 Wrecking here in Portland, the original wheel was long gone and a falling apart 20+ year old Superior wooden grip wheel the size of a go kart wheel that was on it. I like your sense of humor, I was kind of thinking the same thing when going down the street I could cut a swath through all the Priuses, Leafs and the like. Haha

Vern, I know. They were on there when I got it. I am going to get them working.

Finally got the instruments all connected up, it was a big suprise to see the idle oil pressure at 40lbs cold and the alternator putting out 15.4 volts. The fuel gauge registers and the speedo works so mission accomplished. I bought the stuff all from Amazon for less than 90$ so if it lasts it will be a killer deal. Now installing 3 sets of seat belts and will finish the trimming of the interior. Still can't get the cables routing operating the deluxe? heater system figured but what the **** it is summer now when it gets cold I'll worry about that, haha.

Well, hope all you folks are doing well.

Steve
