Is there anyone that makes them? Or is there anyone who makes the Vacuum Advance Pump? My old one isn't moving back and forth and its causing the engine to have a terrible idle. Its a weird one to...has little hose ports on the front and back...ones I'm used to only have one hose connection...I tried one off of a 6 cylinder distributor(it only had a single hose connection) and the engine would run but it had a constant "advance retard advance retard" in other words...the little lever would constantly be moving the points back and forth and back and forth...so...I assume it has to have the original one with 2 hose connections....would like to just put a whole darn new points dizzy in there and get it over with, but if a reman advance pump is available that would be cool. Have called Napa about parts for the 305 in the past and they had troubles. lol Thanks for any info.
EDIT: Found one at Auto Zone. On its way and will be here Wednesday. Good to go guys so far. Let ya know this coming weekend when I put it in.

I looked up the same one..cheapest I could find was $57 with a core charge. My dizzy was a strange one to...on the vacuum advance it had two hose ports instead of one.

I've seen some pictures of v6's with HEI's on them. Was there ever a time when GM made an actual HEI for these engines?

On my 66 GMC P/U I purchased a Buick V6 even fired distributor and machined up an adapter, works great, had to change the advance springs.

I built a Buick HEI for my V6 back in 1991, wouldn't have it any other way. You can't beat it for reliability, availability of parts and performance.

The GMC V6 was two years short of seeing the HEI, though most all GM cars and Light duty trucks got HEI in 1975 as standard equipment, larger trucks didn't get it till 1976.

I still have a few of the Custom Spacer Sleeves for that HEI modification, machined per the drawings on the 6066GMC web site.
When they are gone, I will not be doing any more, because the machine shop is out of business, and nobody will now do it for a reasonable price.

The pictures you've seen of HEI V6's are ones that have been converted over, the conversion has been on Jolly's site since the early 2000's and over the years has caught on with quite a few owner's of GMC V6's even to the point you have HEIDIZZY on ebay manufacturing his own billet HEI specifically for the GMC V6.

Don't think they're made...far as I know you either have to make a set or have a set custom built.
