Hi Wsignman, I was going to go back to being a lurker here since I currently don't own one of these GMC's BUT I just gotta ask--- by your name and this young lady doing a fine job of painting, are you a sign painter? I was in the biz for several decades. I can't seem to find a big pic of your truck. Looks like a beauty in the avatar.

Thanks for settling my curiosity! I eventually (1991) was forced into the CAD/CAS world too, and still design and cut stickers on my 24 year old software and cutter as more of a hobby. The computer and software upgrade is only 15 years old though---LOL!

You and Rachel are doing a beautiful job with this GMC! Thank-you for the pic. I would love to see more and if you already posted more pics and info somewhere I'll try to find it again.

I have been a city employee (not sign related)for 11 years now--they won't let you keep anything! We had our own shop for 18 years and still had it part-time for 10 more. Digital printing took over from the old school type sign guys. I wouldn't spend what it took to get into it.
Congrats on getting to retire!

You can post pics of past work too! Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks,

I don't have pictures from the original build. My understanding the truck came from Georgia in 2002, was sold to the person I bought it from last April. Know it's my turn to fix it up agian.

I've heard great things about a couple of newer products, like Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and Zero Rust. Supposedly, they have simpler applications and are just as good (perhaps better) at preventing corrosion as POR-15.
