Oil Filter Location

Bad question, but I can't locate the oil filter on my 64 305E. There are extra holes on the drivers side engine block where the pressure sending unit is, but no bracket for the housing. Have looked everywhere else..???

Should be a canister right under the pressure switch on drivers side towards rear of engine.
