Can anyone tell me what to torque the bolts to for an Intake Manifold on a 351 V6. I have to replace the gaskets and I am struggling trying to find proper torque information.

I'll look in the manual tomorrow morning and let you know if I find anything. It's 29 degrees right now so no way I can get outside. If I don't find any specs, I'm sure you'd be OK with German torque specs...You know, "GutenTight".:teehee:

Maybe someone else will pipe up. I know alot of the old timers have done gaskets.

Greetings, makindust!

I'm pretty sure that the intake manifold bolts would be Grade five 3/8-16 NC bolts. This type of fastener is usually torqued to 35 foot pounds, although different applications call for different torque specs. If you go to Fastenal, I am quite sure they would be able to provide you with a bolt torque specification chart. Hope this helps.

I just tightened mine down snugly. lol Bout 25-30 foot pounds I think is common.

thanks for the input, I just didn't want to get carried away and over torque and crack the manifold. I would probably have a hard time finding a replacement. Thanks

Nate beat me to it! According to my manual this is correct for all the V6's too. Rocker arms should be 20-25 Ft lbs too while I'm reading it here. Cyl heads are 65-72 ft lbs.

And dont forget to test your torque wrench before getting started either. Ask me how I know about that.

P.S. Sorry for the slow reply. Big day yesterday.
