I am looking for a fuel pump eccentric for a 305E motor I am rebuilding. I was also told that one from a 401, 432 and 478 are the same. Not sure if anyone knows if they are the same. Also, looking for a Magnum intake manifold.

TO be honest I am not sure you couldn't use what you have.
Does the current eccentric not fit on the new gear set or something?

Position really has nothing to do with it. The eccentric causes the pump arm to move back and forth and pump the fuel. The float determines whether or not fuel is going into the carb or not. It doesn't really matter -when- the pump does it job, just that it continually does it. You don't time a fuel pump.

FYI, the 2 different eccentrics were the same diameter and with a different alignment. the small cam gear had 24 teeth and the large crank gear had 48 teeth. So if you are changing the assembly it really does not matter. Since you can no longer get the early 2 gear & chain set you can go with the complete set from the later model. I let the part numbers at the shop but will post them tomorrow when I go to the shop. Thanks to everyone who gave me there intellect, for what ever that's worth. This site is great for people who are not familiar with these motors. John

I would use the original eccentric and call it good. If you really Need to go with the later one I know some guys on another forum who have these engines for parts and I can let them know what you need.
