Hello all,
New to the forum. Recently purchased a 1960 gmc fleetside longbed 4x4 and I'm trying to determine if it has the deluxe package (need to order new door and window seals). Truck is in fair condition and looks like it had a poor restoration done to it at some point in her life. It has the chrome strip along the windows behind the doors and along the back of the cab but not down the side of the bed or around the windshield. My guess is they were not replaced when previously restored. Also there is a small gap between the frame and the seal around the windshield at the corners. Could this be due to the missing chrome?...any recommendations on where to order parts is appreciated as well.
Regards,
Tim

You are missing the windshield trim. The gap has nothing to do with that. I don't think you are missing side trim. Not sure. The 1960 factory brochure shows a custom cab with your exact trim, chrome windshield trim, caps and bumpers. No side trim shown. I assume if they had it they would have shown all the bling available from the factory. I've seen side trim but either dealer add or a newer model? 60 was low on chrome. Next years had more.

Tim, Nice find on a pretty rare truck, and to see it armed with the tall skinny knob tires like it came from the factory with is a plus with me!

Hi Tim and welcome to the forum. You do have a pretty rare truck and it looks really good for being on the east coast. It is a Custom Cab, just missing the wider (about 3/4") version of the stainless windshield trim. The stainless body side trim was optional for 60 and 61. I have one with and one without the side trim. Yours may also have chrome side window frames and vent frames, which also look very nice.

Thanks for the help and yes she is rare. Been looking for one for about 5 years now. Found this one in Arizona which accounts for her condition. Plan on getting her fully restored. Would love to do it myself but simply don't have the time.
