I have not seen it in person. A buddy of mine's wife snapped this pic. I just think I must have it!! Would this have a 305? 351? I will report back.

That's pretty cool! There's another guy here that has a restored ambulance that could give you a few pointers if you get it. He hasn't been around much lately though. You might have to reply in his build and see if he peeks in. I think they came standard with the 305.

Looks like a '63 half ton 4x4 panel. Stock engine would definitely be a 305. The 351 wasn't an option until 1966. And even then it wasn't available in 4x4s.

I don't know how I put a big red thumbs down icon on this thread. Sorry - and I can't seem to change it.

That looks like one of those Civil Defense rescue wagons that the U.S. govt. bought in the 50's and early 60's. All 4X4 panels with a winch. Seen a few, Chevy's, GMC's, International's, other makes.

Man, if that was were I live I would be knocking the door down and begging for it. You could never loose money on that. That is Holy Grail Rare. Short bed? 4X4? 62-63 GMC? Original emergency vehicle? Litter basket? Possible Civil Defense? A panel truck? Great condition? Winch? Original wheels? Give me a break. I'm shivering looking at it. Seriously. Who cares what motor it has?

Oddly a few 351E powered 4wd pickups were produced in 1966, possibly a special order option but a good thing never lasts too long:pullinghairout:
