Hi guys, well I need a starter for my Squash Blossom
A 1965 GMC 1000 with 305 V6

I went down to Napa and they could not be sure what to order. Is there something hard to match on these? I've seen a lot of rebuilt starters on Ebay for around $80 but they seem to all say 1966.

Guess I can take it off and bring it down to see if they can match it up?

Any suggestions?
Thanks Rog

Remy 25372. Amazon $91 free ship no core, Rockauto $57 + $20 or core + ship..........as in Delco-Remy. Napa may be able to cross. The two hole is for manual and I think there is a 3 hole that fits the automatic adaptor. They are all rebuilt. You can get it rebuilt if you find a good shop. I always just take mine apart and refurbish it. 90% of the time I fix it. If not, put back together and use for a core.

If they do, can you post their part number for posterity? Yes, take it with you. You have to take it off anyway.

Good idea Ken Here is the part number for the Delco-Remy 25372 starter: 2464841
I am trying to bolt it back but having a lot of trouble aligning, will keep ya posted!

I have a 66 351C engine with a manual transmission, it's the same starter used in a 305 manual transmission?

I looked earlier when I saw you post on FB. the 66 is not listed at all for applications. The drive for the starter is available on rockauto. maybe you can rebuild it with some brushes and a drive?

I just replaced my Starter last spring in my 63 305E: WAI GLOBAL 4038N https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6680672&cc=1340761&pt=4152&jsn=14
