Sure wish I’d seen this earlier, but I managed to get the last one. One is better than none?! Thanks for the heads up though....

Recvd this gasket and wish I’d checked the number out further before I jumped on the purchase. Measured the new gasket and layer it on my 351 cal head - it’s a little larger than the old one. Then looked up the victor #3379 on the new gasket and it tracks to a 401. With it laying on the head, it looks as though it could work?! But a little closer to some water ports?!
Any advice on whether this will work?

You might want to return it for a refund. Ebay will refund your money for almost any conceivable reason, and your's is legitimate (item not as described). Good for the buyer but not for a small time seller when people want to return an item months later after using and abusing it.

351 head gaskets still pop up on Ebay from time to time.

It should be O.K., the Fel-Pro HS-7962-SB-3 head gasket set was listed for the 351 in their catalog, but really was for the 401 and 432. As long as the coolant and oil passages all line up, I don't think it matters if the head gasket fire ring is recessed back a bit from the cylinder wall. I think I have 401 head gaskets on my 351.

Yeah, I’m thinking (hoping) you’re correct that it’ll work for both engines, all the holes and ports line up. I contacted the seller and he said same thing, that it’s listed as fitting both 351 and 401. While looking up info on this, I found another company selling head gaskets for the v6s - including the 351 and 702. So, I ordered a set of those as well and will measure the fire ring on them when they arrive. I’ll make sure to get back on here and let you know what I find out.
Thanks all for the help

Yes, please do. The last listed Fel-Pro head gasket for the 351 was 7962 SB-2, which was also used for the 401 and 432. I am pretty well sure that is the gasket I used when I rebuilt my 351.

Somewhere years ago I saw a listing for 401 gaskets that were compatible for the 351, yet there was an actual 351 gasket from GMC that was different, I actually have just one gasket like that. I posted the comparison some time last year.

I found what you had posted. Not a lot of differences. Only the cylinder bore opening is different.

I recvd my new head gaskets in the mail today. These are actual GMC gaskets w the logo on them, part number 2372850 and they say they fit 1960-64 351, 401 and 702 GMC. They are gray metal both sides w sandwiched material between. The firing ring measures exactly the same as the prior victor gasket, 5.125” so guess they will work for these engines as everyone has stated. The only difference between the victor and NOS gaskets are the victor is sprayed copper on block side but all ports and coolant passages exactly the same. I paid $75 for each gasket, from either place.
Well, now I could install my magnum parts when I decide to.

Hello - wondering if you have sourced your Magnum intake & exhaust manifold gaskets? These are the gaskets that take a little searching for or you can have them made new. Good luck on your engine project!:goodjob:

No, unfortunately I haven’t found those gaskets. I’m just planning to make them when it comes time. Thanks
