Hi all. I just bought a 1960 1500. All original except for the carb I was told. This is my first vintage GMC and I specifically sought out a 1960-61 as I love the look of the hood. I did not know anything was special about the 305 engine until doing some research. She drives great, is a tad hard starting, needs very minor rust work (bottom of front fenders and driverside under door rocker and that is all), and a bed kit plus a few odds and ends. Wish she was a different color but I only had to travel 5 miles to buy so can't complain too much. I've restored several pre '67 vw buses and currently have a doublecab version that I'm slowly working on plus a totally custom car I've been building for several years (build log....http://ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32608) so have several projects that keep me busy.
