Anyone know how to decipher a 14 digit vin 64-65 gmc slingbox stepside. I cant find anything online to decode it.

I have vin numbers listing in my factory assembly manual, what is the number?
P45 indicates step van 1-8 for ton rating.
the problem with the manual it that its more Chevy than GMC as far as information

I don't see 14 digits anywhere in the question.

5=1965..........C= Cab and chassis?.....9= GMC.....1504= Short bed, fender side......6= 6 cylinder......19284= production number..........A= 6000 GVW or less. (5000 GVW)

Ooops, should have said LONG BED. the decoder plainly says 127" WB. Sorry.

That's a casting number. Notice the conversation about "green paint". You will need the number on pad near dizzy.
Probably Canadian motors have the same numbers as USA. Some castings have alpha numeric date codes to narrow it down and other numbers stamped or cast will help. Also the known motors for 1965 is available. Use your google and your noodle.
