I have a 1965 shortbed stepside. Does anyone know if any toy manufacturer ever made a model of the GMC? Lots of Chevy C10 choices, but I have never seen one with the right grille.

I’ve only seen this Spec Cast model of a 1960 with the early hood.

That is more than I had seen. Cool knee knocker fleetside though.

Jolly had several of those for sale ten years ago at the 10th Anniversary Jamboree of our site. He had applied club logo decals on them.

I have a die-cast i got sometime back. Hemmings motor news offered it in 2-tone red/white or drk grn/white. It also had the hmn logo on the doors. I got the drk grn/white truck.

Spec-Cast made a few different versions. There was a green and while 'GMC Truck' version, I have one somewhere. In addition to the Sentry Hardware none, I think there were at least 2 others. Nice 1/25th. die cast, not terribly well detailed but not terribly expensive either.

Those are the same models Jolly provided in his post, I have the red with white top sentry and one of Jolly's version with 478 decals on the hood.

Pete --

I've got the red and white one that Jolly added 401 decals to on the hood. I've also got a green and white one with Hemmings Motor News logo on it that's still in the box.

Are the ones you talking about a 1960 piggy bank?

I wish First Gear would do a 1960-66 GMC in 1/25th. scale. They did a 1/25th. 1963 International C1100 that's just about the best looking die cast pickup model I have ever seen.

The tonneau cover slides back about 1/8" to reveal a coin slot just behind the rear window.
