New member here and thought I would introduce you to my 1966 GMC truck "Maynard".
Maynard was found sitting in a field in the back 40 in Snohomish, WA. Maynard was parked in 1999 and was forgotten until I spotted his shiny chrome grill. Tires were flat, breaks were frozen solid, he was covered in green algae and had resident mice living in the glove box. My husband, who visited the farm to purchase a tractor, thought I was crazy when I told him were were taking Maynard home.
We winched his locked up tires up onto our trailer and I pressure washed him right away. My husband humored me and we had him running for the first time in 20 years. If you'd like to see Maynard start-up for the first time click here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUslfTL8K3I).
Now after weeks of cleaning and running around to various parts stores and great shopping on eBAY, Manyard is ALMOST ready for his maiden voyage.
Maynard has received the following:
Complete tune-up including fluids
New gas tank
New brakes, lines and master cylinder
Rebuilt carburetor
New wheels and tires
New shocks
Repainted inside the cab
Headlight surrounds from the nice man on eBay
LOTS of love and cleaning, The mice have been rehomed!
:coolGMC2:
More to come.
