I have searched and read all the posts I can find, so sorry if this has been hashed over and I did not find it.
we recently purchased a 1963 2500 dump bed truck. it has quite a few issues, but given its age probably not as many as it should.
One that is giving me fits is a leaking garrison heater core in a deluxe heater.
I have purchased two different heater cores and neither one will fit without major modification.
The control valve appears to be in good shape, but no way to replace or have the current core replaced.
So I need some help with good part numbers, pictures, or explanations of retrofitting some usable good part numbers (with sources) to get a heater working.
I appreciate the help.

I had the same trouble. I can help you if you post more pics of all sides of your core and post the two cores you bought and the vendor and part number. This will help me explain. We will be able to communicate better. Post pics of the engine bay heater box also for reference when we are discussing a fix.

I had an old time radiator shop, now out of business, re-core mine a few years ago. Might be hard to find one today that will do it. Otherwise, there is currently a new old stock original 60-63 Harrison heater core on Ebay for $275. Seller's name is delcojoe.

I believe this is the one snazzypig was referring to: https://www.ebay.com/itm/314027742124?hash=item491d8313ac:g:46IAAOSwwFtilja Y
On your core see if you can see the part number like the one on ebay, it might also help you.

All, Thanks for the help so far. I will get more pictures up as I can. The heater core, valve, and heater box mount plate are currently at the only real radiator shop we have left in this area. Waiting for word on repair or return to me.
This heater is definitely the deluxe 4 lever control ( actually 3 lever and the fan switch, but that might be too nit picky).
One new core tried is Four Seasons part number 92280.
More to come.

Assuming you checked size of core before purchase, what was wrong with the 4 season? Inlet/outlet tube location?
Here's the fix.
You do not need the heater control function and all that clap trap attached to the core. Just use a correct fit core like the one you posted with slight modifications to the box. You can see the new opening(s), the plugs in old holes and you can see the cable from the dash control (HEAT) which can be used for a Four Seasons Valve 74828 or equivalent.. This will give some heat control.
This is my 1960 1001 4x4. Deluxe heater. Truck now sold.

@AZKen Sorry i have been busy at work and out of town fir a few days.
First core was ordered correct size but delivered a different part. Returned it.
Second core was right size but in/out tubes are way wrong, hoses would have ended up inside the heater box. Not too keen on that either. Also needed a new valve and control cable. Nothing new to you all, but not really the way I wanted to start.
Found a radiator shop about 70 miles away. I just got a phone message this morning that it is fixed. When i get it back I will take pictures and post info on the shop.
Next up heater fan and resistor.

Sorry all, I have not had time to get pictures and info for the shop.
I hope this coming weekend I will get a chance to get it in and put the info up here.
I am know researching heater blower, fuel sending unit, and the ever present turn signal switch issues on the 1963 trucks.
