I am going to get started on my 65 GMC 3/4 ton camper special. I have a 2wd NV4500 from a 94 dully. I am going to put a 350 Chevy in front of it.

My question is should I use the hydraulic clutch or fit an earlier bell housing and use the manual clutch.

Also has anyone done a similar swap. I am going to need to do some swapping of the drive shaft as the NV4500 has a fixed yoke. Any recommendations?

Just wondering why you would put a small block Chevy in your truck? But again - it's your truck so you can do what you want. I'm not speaking for all the members on this forum but I'm thinking that you're not going to get much help here. :noWAY:

Well, the original engine was removed by a previous owner as it had blown up. The V6 was a good engine in its day but it is not easy to get parts for and it will not do what I want the vehicle to do. I am planing to use the truck as a shop truck. I want to be able to pull a trailer with it and take highway trips. The original drive line was not up to this task. These made awesome farm trucks and oil field vehicles back in the day. Just not what I want to do with it.
