Okay- so I know this a probably an easy question for some of you but forgive me for not paying attention. I am re-assembling the valve trains on my 64 305E and (in my inattention) I did not note the orientation of the mounts. There is a notch cut into the support mounts where the tube runs through- does the notch go inboard or outboard? I just want to make sure before I torque everything down.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks James-
That helps a bit. Although it does not show the slot on the mount. I did find a photo that showed the slot going toward the springs. Appreciate the help!

If you are referring to the rocker arm shaft mounting brackets that is bolted to the head with two bolts, then the slot goes toward the valves.
Otherwise post a picture of what you are referring to.
Now the picture that I posted above, show the orientation of the shaft lubrication holes in relation to the rocker arms. This allow proper lubrication to the rocker arms.
