I have googled and googled some more but cannot find the answer so I'm hoping someone here has the answer. What are the correct axle flange gaskets for a 1962 GMC 1000 dana 44?

Front or rear axle (I'm assuming front)? Do you have a picture of the old gasket or where it goes.

Sorry I should have been more specific. It's for the rear dana 44-1. It goes in-between the brake backing plate and the axle tube end.

Here are pictures of where the gaskets go that I'm looking for. I just realized after looking at the pictures that the gasket may actually go in-between the axle retainer plate and the backing plate inside of the drum.

i wouldn't think you would need a gasket. it is sealed by the axle seal, there should be no fluid there.

IIRC the GMC Dana 44 rear axles use the big ford "old style" housing ends

I think these are the correct ones but contact them.

ilvracn I had that thought too but the manufacturer put it there for a reason as they aren't in the habit of throwing away money. So I am gonna try my darnedest to see if I can track it down. I did see on a search of this website that someone tracked it down years ago but unfortunately they didn't list the part number.

Beerman is correct these are the correct wheel bearing retainer gaskets for the early 60s Dana 44. I have ordered, received, and installed so I can without a doubt verify they are correct.:upyes::signthankspin:
