I swear I found a thread that talked about the MU1862-1 kit on Summit and Rockauto, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

This is all great info about the 04-528 and I'll go that route if that's what it takes, but just wondering if anyone has tried the MU1862 lately and if there's any useful parts to it..? It comes in about half the price and if I have to buy the disk separately anyway...?

Okay, awesome, thanks! Yeah, the 1862 is $100+ less than the 04-528 so I'll do that and work on getting the right disk.

So, this is what I did.

The 1862 went up $60 on Summit, AND they were out of stock.

So I went with the PERFECTION CLUTCH MU19501 from Rock Auto at $172 shipped.

The springs are not entirely recessed but fit in the recess of the flywheel so I think I'm okay there...? The pilot bearing matches the 'other' one that is available for the '60 GMC, and I assume fits inside the crankshaft. Mine is the one that fits in the flywheel, so I had to order another one from O'Reilly for $32, shipped to store, had it the next day.

Also the throwout bearing was too large to fit in the clutch fork, so had to order one of those from O'Reilly at $35, shipped to store, had it at 1:30pm same day.

Total was $239. Unfortunately, I'm still a ways from being able to test it to give the full 'it works' report, but it looks good so far.
