Here's a video I made to give you an impression of what's it like to drive the old truck.

Great video -- well done! Thanks for sharing the views from your neighborhood over there on the other side of the pond.

that was an awesome video! One thing I'm sorely disappointed in though, the driver's accent is weak as heck. Almost unnoticable.
I expected the Sweedish Chef and got Stellan Skarsgård!

Hahaha that's funny! I've always had a fascination with rural American culture and lifestyle and have spent a lot of time interacting with Americans. Did my best to lose my accent as much as possible and spending 6 months in the US definitely helped. I try to dress appropriately too with the boots and the Wranglers and snap pearls.

Usually our politicians have the most pronounced Dutch accents and terrible English skills.

Our former prime minister set the stage:

As did the famous soccer coach Louis van Gaal:

In a little bit I can start training my Canadian accent, eh!

"Dats not goot!" Thanks for that one!

Perfect examples! The soccer guy had me rolling.

A little update about Canada, our embassy just got shot up there today. It's not the canada of the 90s anymore.

Glad you liked it! Louis van Gaal is notorious for his English.

Sad to hear that about Canada. I'm not planning to go even near the cities, except Edmonton and Calgary. I'm over in rural Alberta, far away from the craziness and I hope it stays that way.

Not at all. I’m going to maintain a small fleet of school buses. I’m also going to get my license there and ride bus for them. And help them out with their farm operation.
I met these folks last year in the US. I have already spent 3 weeks there fixing a bus for them and now I’m coming back for a longer time. I’m glad I can help them out. For me its a way to experience life there and decide if I want to emigrate after a year.
